Maybe it's a stupid question, 'cause I guess this must be fake for that price...
But you never know : has anyone here ever bought smurfs on aliexpress.com?
If well or not, what do you think about it?
I see they have different sets.

Some smurfs on the page look also fake to me, especially the pupils in their eyes seem different.
But this set : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/8-Pieces ... l#feedback I don't really notice any difference on the pictures when I compare it with the 2 indian smurfs I own.
Can you tell what looks fake to you? I'm interested in learning how you can see the difference between a fake and a real smurf.

Mauren has a great page about the Hong Kong fakes: http://www.hiddeninthewoods.com/Hallowe ... China.html
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

Thank you Cassie, this is very interesting :D
Maybe it's a stupid question, but are all smurfs made in Hong Kong fake?
I ask this because I own some smurfs which are marked "made in Hong Kong" which I bought from someone who had them from childhood (those that were send with the box/case).

Not all smurfs made in Hong Kong are fake. Only probably in the last 20 years or so are there more fakes from China than Hong Kong.

My general rule is if a smurf can't look you straight in the eye it is a fake. If you still aren't sure ask the question on the forum someone is sure to know if it is a fake or not

Thanks you for that possiblity :D
I guess I will do that for the smurfs I bought on the fair for 1 euro last week.

This morning I realised this was a stupid question because in the catalog I bought each smurf is described with its different varations and "real" smurfs (I guess that are the ones called genuine in this forum) are also made in Hong Kong.
I should have known that after looking almost every day in my catalog :-D

If you see any of the newer smurfs with "made in China" these are fakes (newer meaning released in the last five years).

Most of the "made in HongKong" smurfs are not fakes especially not the ones from the 70s and 80s :D
