Hi Everyone

I am in the process of looking for an APP so I can display a picture of each of my smurfs. I am also wanting to add a short title/description to each picture. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The APP will be used on an IPad.

Thanks

Kath

An APP is a software program for a smartphone/tablet. ;)

Well, I did not know what was an APP for I never use internet on the smartphone. Maybe one day if it works quickly !

For my pictures, I am on Flickr but I was told Instagram is more friendly and less "artistic" : the thing is it belongs to Facebook and therefore asks you to agree with their knowledge of your private life, something I can't agree with...
But maybe you search for something different, I don't know.

Tell us what you choose, Kath.

Hi Guys

I thought I would explain a bit more of my situation.

I am currently using an APP called SortShots which has been reasonably good. I think there is a free version and a paid version. I went with the paid version as I have over 3000 pictures. It allows you to label each picture which is great; 20001 Papa WG and create groups. Though I have a problem re-tagging a picture if for example it is in the wrong group.

I agree with Arno that I don't want to be Instagram as it is connected with Facebook. Though I did not think of Flickr so that could be option.

Any other suggestions would be most useful.

Cheers

Kath

Sorry I can't help because I only work with my pictures on my laptop. I use Instagram a lot on my phone lately because I love the editing program, but I don't sort the pictures with it or name them.

I love the free photo editing program Photoscape which I use for simple edits (like website pictures) on my laptop, but not sure if they have an Iphone/Ipad version of it. :-?

From my short experience on Flickr I would say you should explore and try it :
- you can post 1 TB pictures, with name, comment, tags and place them in groups you create : it is very easy.
- you can rename and modify, remove pictures : it is less intuitive to me, but still easy I think.
but of course it is not a website, it is a sharing platform, so people can see and download your pics.
I can send you the link to my Flickr if you want.

Thanks for the kind offer Arno.

I think I might use Flickr as it appears to be really good. I am still trying to work out how it will go on the iPad. I will let you know how I go.

Cheers

On the weekend, I had to upgrade my IPad and initially I did not have enough space. The app I was using for my smurf photos was huge. So I decided to delete it and make the move to Flickr.

This was after reading Arno's review and looking at some of the creative smurf photos. I am so glad I did as it is very easy to use. Initially I could not work out how to get my titles to come across but I have now.

For those of you looking for something to display your photos and you don't want Facebook, check it out.
