So is this smurf still on the move... I was trying a project like this with one of the computer classes I teach (Website building) for some 6th graders and the smurf didn't get past the first person we sent it to. We called ours wandering smurf. I'm looking at starting it up again for my new class this year. I bought about 50 of the target Jakks smurfs and sent them home with the students too and they took pictures. You can check out what we did at www.wanderingsmurf.webs.com

Sure you can get it, too....Not sure where it is right now..Last I heard it was still in Germany but haven't heard from Dominique since then despite trying to contact her.

When I received it from André, I made pics, posted them on the forum and send the WT within 24 hours to Ron.
When Dom wrote that the WT needed to stay with her for at least 2 months, I knew immediately that this project would go wrong, because these things only work when everyone acts quickly.

She once wanted to send me something ( which never happened) and she gave me her normal address in Dortmund.
I fear, something could be wrong with her??

I thought about using one of my own smurfs as a "substitute" world traveller and taking some pictures with that. It's the beginning of foliage season here in NH and I was really hoping to get some pics. Maybe we could do something like that so everyone can take part? I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of everyone's towns and their local sights! I miss it!!

I thought about that as well....Our trees already lost their leaves, so we won't have our beautiful Indian summer that Tennessee is famous for, but I did think about just getting another traveller on it's way.
The thing is that we won't get to send Andre's booklet with it
Another thing that made this one so much fun was that it was one particular smurf that made it's way around the world.

Does anybody have a spare Traveller they would like to donate for this cause? We could still send one around the world. I don't have a duplicate or I'd do it

but we do have copies from the little booklet.
I made scans from André`s page ( or better, from the one that his children made) and from my own page and later Ron made scans from all the pages, I believe 6 in total.
It`s not the same of course, but better then nothing

Let´s hope Dom still has it and will send it to some other collector. But since it has been such a long time since anybody heard anything from her, I don´t have high hopes. Let´s just hope nothing bad has happend to her.

But as some of you say we maybe can find another way to make the smurf travel??

I've sent her a pm back in May which is still in my outbox .and I tried to e-mail her (used the e-mail she has on her profile page) but never heard back from her.

It is really strange..When she has dissapeared for some weeks (travels, exams...), she always have said it at forum...Her last email was a "happy birthday" she sent me, but don´t know what happens with her...And it is even more strange that she has gone all last fairs (xaviers and sisters) and have announced much time before. Hope all is ok with her, and just she is studying very very hard!!!!

I've spoken to Dom (See thread in General Chat) and she is going to send the smurf and the booklet to me. She feels very guilty about keeping him all this time but life has just got on top of her. I told her not to worry!

When he gets here I will be able to post her pictures and story of his stay in Dortmund. Then he can explore Clacton-on-Sea and Colchester - lucky smurf!
